Scenic Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands is the site of a one of a kind event each Spring.
This year Sculpture in the Garden: Lopez Style features 9 established Lopez Island, Orcas Island, and San Juan Island Artists displaying their special creations in one unique garden. Work by each of the artists will be available. The various media include works done in clay, papier mache, glass, stone, copper, steel and wood. Each piece is individually hand crafted.
Expect to see birdbaths, stepping stones, garden benches, garden tools, basins, as well as figurative and abstract sculpture. Some sculpture can provide a focal point for your garden, others can nestle into an intimate garden setting. Some pieces add an artistic touch to practical aspects of your garden, while others will provide pure joy and whimsy.
The artists will be available to discuss their work. The processes for creating each piece are as varied as the works themselves. Come and enjoy the richness of artistic vision. Bring family and friends and treat yourself to great art in a wonderful garden setting.
A forty minute ride on the Washington State Ferry from Anacortes will bring you to pastoral Lopez island. From there you can drive the seven miles to the Benoliel & Buchanan Garden.
