Karen moved to Lopez Island after a four day visit. The beauty of the island was enchanting to her and now it influences her art. She has been an artist all of her life with sculpture being a primary love and path of expression. Watercolor and oil painting also provide many avenues of expression.
The main subject matter in her work is wildlife art. Many sculptures seen in this show are also of the humorous side of life in the animal kingdom as well as in the family of humans.
Karen lives and has her Raven Studio on the beautiful South End of Lopez Island. There are three separate workshops in the studio to accommodate the variety of work. There is a ceramic studio, a wood working studio and a painting studio. The studio is on the yearly studio tour at the end of the summer season, stop by and see her workspace on the tour this summer!
