Pete Welty

Pete has been working in steel as a professional for more than 40 years. His interest in stone carving grew out of the need to integrate stone as base material for his steel pieces.

"The process of creating a piece of sculpture is perhaps as invigorating as the feeling of its completion. The completion or success of a piece is almost anticlimatic. In the process there is stimulation. My approach to art is more of a dance with the steps, the completion is when the band takes a break."
