Polly Ham

Polly Ham has worked in clay for over forty years as a potter, sculptor, and teacher. Her imagery focuses on animal forms and patterns in the natural world.

She uses sawdust and smoke resist firings to capture the variation in color and softness of young piglets and the dramatic patterns of sword ferns or wild blackberry. Her glazed work exhibits the delicacy of local fauna.

Polly's unique papier mache animals are imbued with a personality of their own - from giraffes to tortoise to Polish hen. Polly has been in a number of individual and group shows in the San Juan Islands and on the East Coast.

Polly can be contacted to request commissions.
